A Professional Employer Organization, or “PEO”, is a service provider that contracts with a client company to share certain employer responsibilities and liabilities in the areas of Human Resources, Workers’ Compensation, Risk Management, Employee Benefits, and Payroll Administration. The PEO, client company, and employees enter into a co-employment agreement in which both the PEO and client company are employers of record for the employee.
